Elton John reveals ‘severe’ infection left him with limited vision in one eye

Elton John is fighting a nasty eye illness, but he’s “still standing.”

The 77-year-old singer posted a statement on Instagram on Tuesday, saying, “Over the summer, I’ve been dealing with a severe eye infection that has unfortunately left me with only limited vision in one eye.”

“I’m healing, but it’s going to be very slow, and it will take some time for the affected eye to see again.”

The vocalist of “Rocket Man” continued by expressing gratitude to his “amazing team of physicians and nurses.”

The singer said it left him with only “limited vision in one eye.”
The EGOT winner gave thanks to his medical team and family.

Along with his husband David Furnish, he also thanked his family, saying that their boys, Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11, had “taken such good care of me over the last several weeks.”

John feels good about the progress “I have made in my healing and recovery thus far,” having spent the summer “recuperating at home.”

“Love and gratitude” was the musician’s way of signing off on the update.

John added that it “will take some time” for sight to return to his eye.

Following John’s remark, admirers and even some celebs showered the comments area with encouraging words.

“We watched your concert together yesterday, Sir Elton,” Carnie Wilson said, adding that she and her father, Beach Boys musician Brian Wilson, “were getting well soon.” His favorite band was Bennie and the Jets. ❤️.

Fashion designer Donatella Versace remarked, “Love to you Elton and sending good energy for your healing. ✌🏼😳✌🏼💙,” while Rosanna Arquette wrote: “Elton, you have my undying love! Soon, feel better. I adore you ♥️♥️♥️.
