A popular Southern California venue for thrill-seekers has announced its closure after a tragic accident that deeply affected the community.

The Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park, a beloved spot for motocross fans, is closing permanently following a tragic accident in June that resulted in the death of a 9-year-old girl.

In a Facebook statement, the park’s owners expressed their sadness, announcing the closure of LEMX. They explained that due to a lawsuit stemming from the tragic accident in June, the property owner had ended their agreement, as they were also being implicated in the case.

The park’s officials stated that closing the track was in the best interest of the property owner. While acknowledging the challenges they faced, they shared that running the venue had been a rewarding experience.

Bystanders quickly rushed to help Brooke, performing CPR until paramedics arrived. Sadly, despite their efforts, she passed away from her injuries, while the other rider involved sustained only minor injuries. In response to the tragedy, a GoFundMe page was created by family friend Ally Giles to support the grieving Carlton family during this difficult time, helping them cope with the loss of their beloved daughter.

On the GoFundMe page, Brooke’s parents, Jason and Angie, shared a heartfelt message, stating, “Yesterday the good Lord called our dear Brooke Lily to heaven after a freak accident at a local motocross track. Our entire family is still trying to understand why our Brookie, but we firmly believe that God needed her and called her home to be with him.”

Family friend Ally also fondly remembered Brooke, highlighting her love for her parents, dog Gunner, grandparents, and brother Landon. She described Brooke as a sweet, joyful girl with a warm smile and bright blonde curls, who had the ability to brighten anyone’s day.

After Brooke’s death, officials at the motorsports park announced plans for a ride to honor her, expressing their deep sadness about the tragic accident in a statement shared on the park’s Instagram page. The ride was intended to celebrate Brooke’s vibrant spirit and bring the community together in remembrance.
