Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Welcome Baby Number Seven: Stirring Up Conversations

Alec and Hilaria Baldwin have recently welcomed their seventh child together, adding another chapter to their ever-expanding family. Their journey began in 2011 when Alec first met Hilaria, and they later married in 2012. Since then, they’ve been on a delightful parenting adventure.

Their family expanded steadily, commencing with their first child in 2013. Over the years, they joyfully welcomed four more children before adding a sixth through surrogacy. In April 2021, the couple delightedly shared the news of their seventh bundle of joy, filling their followers with joy and anticipation.

Hilaria joyfully introduced their daughter on Instagram, sharing a heartwarming collection of photos and videos with the caption: “She’s here! We are so excited to introduce you to our tiny dream come true, Ilaria Catalina Irena.”

In total, Alec has eight children, including his eldest daughter, Ireland Baldwin, from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger. Their newest addition, born on September 22, 2022, weighed 6 pounds and 13 ounces, bringing joy and good health to their home.

Hilaria shared the warm reception her other children gave their new sister, saying, “Her Baldwinito siblings are spending the day bonding and welcoming her into our home.” The couple expressed their gratitude and love for their expanding family in an official birth announcement.

While the Baldwins cherish their large family, Hilaria acknowledges that not everyone may understand their choice. She shared, “7th baby: when people ask or comment, we often go to silly and very self-deprecating jokes on my part. I love to laugh at myself—so it’s all good…keeps me sane. All jokes aside, however, I am grateful for this experience.” She reflects on the varied experiences of motherhood, embracing both its joys and challenges.

The Baldwins’ unconventional approach to naming their children, often with Spanish origins, has been a trademark. However, given the controversy surrounding Hilaria’s heritage representation, some have raised eyebrows at their choice for their seventh child’s name, Ilaria Catalina Irena Baldwin.

Critics expressed their opinions on social media, questioning the authenticity of the name in light of Hilaria’s background. Some found it perplexing that none of the names had American origins. Yet, it’s worth noting that Ilaria is an Italian name meaning “joyful,” indicating the couple’s diverse naming inspirations.
