Freddie Mercury’s ‘Secret Daughter’ Dead at 48
The woman who claimed to be the secret daughter of Queen legend Freddie Mercury has tragically passed away at the age of 48 after a long battle with a rare form of cancer.
In 2025, a woman known publicly only as “B” came forward with a stunning claim: that she was the biological daughter of Freddie Mercury. Her story, revealed in the book Love Freddie by biographer Lesley-Ann Jones, captured worldwide attention. Now, her family has confirmed that she has died peacefully following a prolonged fight with chordoma, a rare spinal cancer.
She leaves behind two young children, aged nine and seven.
According to her widower, Thomas, B passed away surrounded by love. In a deeply emotional statement, he shared that her ashes were scattered over the Alps.
“B is now with her beloved and loving father in the world of thoughts. Her ashes were scattered to the wind over the Alps.”

The Claim That Shocked the World
Lesley-Ann Jones wrote that Freddie Mercury secretly fathered B during an affair in 1976. The author stated that the woman possessed DNA evidence to support her claim, although it was never made public.
The Daily Mail previously reported that Mercury referred to her as “Bibi” and allegedly wrote songs inspired by her, including Bijou (Jewel) and Don’t Try So Hard.
Freddie Mercury was said to have maintained a close relationship with his ‘secret’ daughter until his death in 1991.
For more than three decades, B chose silence. When Love Freddie was released, she explained why she had remained hidden for so long.
“I cried and mourned my Dad, while fans all around the world mourned Freddie. When you are 15 years old, it’s not easy,” she said.
“I had to become an adult without him, and live all the structuring moments and events without his support.”
She continued:
“For 30 years I had to build my life and family without him and accept that he wouldn’t be there to share the happy moments with us. For 30 years, while the rest of the world was reinterpreting Mercury’s life, his music and all that he had been, I needed to have my Dad just for me and my family. How could I have spoken before?”

Doubts and Devastation
Not everyone accepted her claim. Freddie Mercury’s close friend and former partner Mary Austin told The Times it would be “astonishing” if B were truly his daughter.
Following B’s death, author Lesley-Ann Jones released an emotional statement:
“I am devastated by the loss of this woman who became my close friend, who had come to me with a selfless aim: to brush aside all those who have had free rein with Freddie’s story for 32 years, to challenge their lies and their rewriting of his life, and to deliver the truth.”
Jones added:
“She was very ill throughout the four years that we worked together. But she was on a mission. She put herself and her own needs last. At the end of her life, it was all that mattered to her.”
Whether the world ever fully accepts her claim or not, B’s story became part of the enduring mystery surrounding Freddie Mercury’s life.
Her passing closes a chapter filled with questions, emotion, and quiet resilience.
Rest in peace.
