At this time, the specific cause of his passing has not been disclosed.

In an interview with former Argentina player Juan Pablo Sorin in June, Lionel Messi spoke about his emotional responses during the tournament, linking them to family issues.

Lionel explained, "Honestly, it was for the family more than anything else. It’s always on my mind. We’re currently facing a tough time; many factors have come together, but certainly, the wonderful support from my group brings me joy."

The following day, the family issued a statement confirming that Jorge Messi was unwell, was under medical care, and that his recovery was reportedly progressing well after rumors spread by an Argentine television host concerning his death.

Jorge Messi significantly impacted the trajectory of his son’s early career, facilitating his move to Barcelona, and remained a trusted advisor throughout Lionel’s life.

Lionel Messi is currently a player for Inter Miami FC in Major League Soccer.
