A Young Orphan Longs for Love – Then a Stranger Brings Unexpected Hope

Six-year-old Alan, an orphan who missed his mother deeply, often felt sad and longed for a family. One day, feeling particularly lonely, he went to a church, sat in a quiet corner, and tearfully prayed to God, asking for his mother to come back and take him home.

While lost in his sorrow, he didn’t notice someone nearby. Suddenly, a gentle voice spoke, and Alan turned to see a stranger kindly saying, “I’ll take you.” This unexpected kindness filled Alan with hope, a feeling he hadn’t experienced in a long time.

Little Alan, a lonely orphan, went to a church one day, knelt, and prayed tearfully, asking, “Dear Jesus, they say you hear everyone. Please, send my mom to me.” His heart ached as he looked at the crucifix, pleading for an answer. In frustration, he asked, “Why aren’t you answering my prayer?” His guardian, Nancy, gently reminded him to quiet down, but Alan was deeply hurt. Other kids at the shelter teased him, calling him a crybaby and saying no one would ever adopt him, leaving Alan feeling even more alone.

Suddenly, a woman’s voice spoke from behind, saying, “I’ll take you.” Startled, Alan and Nancy turned to see a woman with a child beside her. With teary eyes, she said, “Alan, my boy! I’ve come to take you home.”

Nancy, surprised, asked, “Who are you, and how do you know Alan?” The woman introduced herself as Annette and claimed to be Alan’s mother. She showed Nancy an old photo of herself holding newborn Alan, explaining that she had left him at the shelter’s doorstep six years ago because she’d been too young to care for him.

Annette shared her story, revealing that at 16, she had become pregnant, only to be abandoned by her boyfriend. Her parents, worried about their family’s reputation, demanded she abandon the baby or risk losing her inheritance. Heartbroken and unsure, she left Alan at the shelter, though she could never truly let go. Over the years, she married and had another child, Amy, who was with her now, but she often visited to see Alan from afar, unable to forget him.

Moved by Alan’s heartfelt prayers, Annette realized she could no longer stay away and resolved to bring him home. She quickly completed all necessary legal steps, including a DNA test, which confirmed her as Alan’s mother. At last, Alan was able to go home with her, though Annette’s choice came at a personal cost.

Annette faced severe consequences for her decision; her parents disowned her, and her husband, Jason, was furious. Although he was aware of her past, he couldn’t accept her bringing Alan into their family. “I thought you wanted to move on from your past, not bring it into our family. Our marriage is over,” he declared, filing for divorce shortly after.

Despite the turmoil, Annette felt a sense of completeness. She had her son back and was determined to raise both her children on her own. Without her parents’ support or Jason’s, Annette moved abroad with Alan and Amy, starting a new job and embracing a fresh start with her new family.
