She talked candidly about the whole thing on a podcast. She discussed how she was kicked off the show before the table was read when she participated on Jodie Sweetin’s podcast, “How Rude, Tanneritos.” She added that when her agent contacted with some news, she was just getting ready to meet the cast.

First, she stated, her agent informed her that The agency informed her the following day that she had been removed from the show without explanation, and the table read had been rescheduled for a later date.

It was clear that Lakin wanted to know why she had been fired before the event ever began. But no one would divulge to her the reason.

The actress believes she knows why, even though no one has been able to corroborate it. She talked about a 2012 “Funny or Die” video in which she parodied well-known evangelist Kirk Cameron, who is well-known for having anti-gay sentiments.

In addition, Kirk’s sister is Candance Cameron Bure, who portrayed Full House’s D.J. Tanner. Furthermore, Lakin claims that Bure is the reason she was expelled from Fuller House. She lacks evidence to support this, though.

Bure resigned the Hallmark channel in 2022 due to backlash over her views on the LGBTQ+ community, since the channel was showing an increasing number of films with same-sex couples.

Lakin conjectured that her discharge from “Fuller House” might have been influenced by a Funny or Die parody she starred in, while she is unaware of the exact cause for her dismissal.

Actor Kirk Cameron was targeted in the 2012 video, “CCOKC – Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron,” for his disparaging remarks against the LGBTQ population.

“I was asked to participate with a bunch of other former child actors because, at the time, I thought Kirk Cameron had said some potentially very damaging things about the LGBTQ community in public,” Lakin recalled. It was humorous. It was parody.
