Gallatin Teen Lucas Leon Wows American Idol Judges With Original Song Luke Bryan Says, “You Have It All”
A 17-year-old high school student from Gallatin, Tennessee, made a powerful first impression on American Idol with a heartfelt original song and a calm, confident presence. Lucas Leon walked into the audition room with his acoustic guitar and left with a golden ticket to Hollywood—along with praise from all three judges.
From the moment Leon entered, Luke Bryan noticed something familiar. The country star immediately compared the young singer’s look to his own son, Bo, even pulling out a photo to show the resemblance.
“Oh my gosh. You look like my child. Look at this. Hold on. So I took this picture of Bo the other day… They could be brothers,” Bryan said with a laugh.
Leon introduced himself simply:
“I’m Lucas Leon, I’m 17 years old, I’m from Gallatin, Tennessee. I play a lot of music, write a lot of songs, do some fishing.”
Bryan quickly responded, “Lucas Leon, I love that name. That sounds like a star name.”
A brief exchange about fishing followed, prompting Carrie Underwood to joke, “Now he sounds like my son. He fishes all day every day.”

An Original Song That Stood Out
Leon then performed an original song titled “Fall In Love Someday.” Wearing a sage green sweatshirt and jeans, he confidently strummed his Martin acoustic guitar and delivered lyrics he co-wrote with Kaleb Thomas Jones and Smith Curry.
The song’s reflective tone and storytelling style immediately set him apart. His gritty yet controlled vocals filled the room, earning a standing ovation from Lionel Richie, Carrie Underwood, and Luke Bryan.
“We’re all standing,” Underwood said. “It’s like your baby face and you’re adorable. But there’s this odd, awesome maturity. I feel like you could go pretty far in this competition.”
Richie added,
“Pure, honest, and very talented.”
“You Have It All”
During the feedback, Bryan jokingly searched for “notable people from Gallatin, Tennessee” on his phone. Finding no country singers listed, he teased that Leon might soon earn a place there himself.
“I’m just having fun with you. Really great stuff you’re doing at the age of 17, and you have it all. So yeah, it’s a big old yes for me.”
Underwood and Richie also voted “yes,” sending Leon to Hollywood Week.
“Idol gold,” Bryan said.
“Star, star, star, star, star right here,” Richie added, marking five stars next to Leon’s name.
After receiving his golden ticket, Leon shared with a smile,
“Definitely hoping I can join on the Wikipedia page for Gallatin, Tennessee. That would be great.”
