Heather Locklear Recalls Tom Cruise Doing His Risky Business Dance Moves on Their Date

The actor was “very nice” during their date, according to Locklear, but it wasn’t enough for the actress in her “rock and roll” days.

Recalling her one and only date with Tom Cruise, Heather Locklear says.

On Saturday, September 14, the Melrose Place alumnus spoke candidly about meeting Cruise, 62, at an audition early in their careers at a panel at 90s Con Florida.

We auditioned together for the movie, and I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m terrible,'” but then I started laughing, “He’s even worse!”

“Thereafter, he ended up coming over to my house with Sean Penn, and at that point he was just like this little baby boy that I felt like I was a little bit older,” she said. They were rather pleasant, but he addressed me with a firm “yes ma’am,” to which I replied, “Okay, sir.”

At the time, the actress identified as a “rock and roll girl,” claiming that her own style didn’t mesh well with Cruise’s.

Locklear laughed and said, “He didn’t quite cut it,” before adding that they finally went on a date. “We went out dancing to Club Lingerie at that time, and I mean, he was really cute,” she recollected.

She went on to talk about his dancing techniques, mentioning that she was among the first to witness the iconic sequence from Risky Business where he slides to his knees.

“I was dancing along like, ‘Do you stop dancing if they’re down there?'” she remembered. “He actually did that before [the movie].” “I was ecstatic, but he treated me really well.”

“Neither of us got that part by the way,” she continued, alluding to the audition where they first met.

Since then, Locklear has advanced significantly. She was cast in Melrose Place in 1992, and the show went on to become a beloved seven-season run.

More than 30 years after the original Melrose Place, news of a revival first surfaced in April. It was later verified at 90s Con.

Reunion pressure quickly unearths past traumas, revives past romances, rekindles past resentments, and unveils fresh truths. The series synopsis read, “throws our characters into a chaotic drama that’s reminiscent of the past, but from a much more modern perspective.”
