Hugh Jackman, Ryan Reynolds joke they’re just ‘and others’ next to Taylor Swift, Blake Lively

There’s something about the presence of Blake Lively and Taylor Swift that makes Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds feel less envious.

Joking about their relative lack of recognition in comparison to the pop star and the former Gossip Girl actress, Jackman and Reynolds made light of their situation at the world premiere of their new picture Deadpool & Wolverine on Monday.

“Go to an NFL game with Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, and you’re ‘Blake Lively, Taylor Swift, and others’ at the game if you ever really want to kind of not feel great about your career,” Jackman jokingly said to PEOPLE. Reynolds agreed with his co-star by saying, “We’re just ‘and others.'”

On October 1, Swift, Jackman, Reynolds, and Lively—who have been married since 2012 and have four children together—all attended the Kansas City Chiefs game together. That was just one of Swift’s many widely reported events, to which she went in support of her boyfriend, NFL tight end Travis Kelce. (Swift and Reynolds and Lively have been good friends for a long time.)

Regarding whether or not they would go to a game in the future—the Chiefs’ regular season begins on September 5—both Jackman and Reynolds indicated that they would be interested in doing so.

Jackman said to PEOPLE, “Oh, I hope so,” to which Reynolds retorted, “You don’t say no to that.”

The fact that Swift was starring in Deadpool and Wolverine raised eyebrows, even if their attendance last fall may have made them (jokingly) “not feel great about” their careers. This was especially true considering that Shawn Levy, the director of the movie, was also spotted at the game with the group.

Levy told Entertainment Weekly in April, “I regret that I was not quicker to shut it down the first time, so I’m going to default to my very true situation, which is as much as we love each other, the fear of death is so intense in me regarding Ryan and how he desperately wants to be with me,” after which the two played coy, choosing to neither confirm nor deny their friend’s involvement—or lack thereof—in interviews. wishes to stay away from discussing all of these circulating rumors.

Swift wasn’t in the movie, a source exclusively revealed to EW in June, though plenty of surprises are still being kept for the big screen. Vanessa (Morena Baccarin), Blind Al (Leslie Uggams), Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Yukio (Shioli Kutsuna), Colossus (Stefan Kapičić), Peter/Sugar Bear (Rob Delaney), Dopinder (Karan Soni), and Shatterstar (Lewis Tan) are among the returning characters from the previous two Deadpool installments.

This Friday, Deadpool and Wolverine will be released in theaters.
