“I was packing and started to cry”: Shannen Doherty sold her belongings before her death to make things easier for her mother and take care of her loved ones.

Famous actress Shannen Doherty passed away at the age of 54 due to a severe illness.

She battled breast cancer for nine years and once spoke on her podcast about wanting to resolve many things before she died so that her mother wouldn’t have to struggle.

“My priority at this moment is my mom. I know it will be hard for her if I die before her. Considering it will be difficult for her, I want to make some things easier. I don’t want her to be left with a bunch of things to deal with. I don’t want her to have four storage units full of furniture,” the actress explained at the time.

“So, we were in Tennessee, and I was packing there. It was very hard and very emotional because I felt like I was giving up on my dream to build that estate, to build a house for myself and a house for my mom, and then to expand the barn. I was packing and started to cry. I felt like I was giving up on a dream. What did that mean for me? Did it mean I was giving up on life? My mom told me I didn’t have to do it, and I said – I have to,” the actress recounted through tears.

She then gave away many items and antiques she had collected over the years so that they wouldn’t burden her mother.

“I have to take my mom on vacation because I have all this extra money to play with and I don’t want to dig into the money that is on my estate, which will ensure that everyone in my life is taken care of when I’m dead,” she said, among other things, on the podcast “Let’s Be Clear.”
