Jennifer Garner Shares a Sleepy ’70s Throwback Snap of Herself as a Child

Jennifer Garner is throwing it back to the ’70s!
The actress, 52, shared a special message with her fans on Instagram ahead of the holiday weekend — and included a nostalgic photo from her early years.
On Friday, Aug. 30, Garner shared a snapshot from nearly five decades ago, showing the Alias alum taking a nap on a couch while snuggling with a cat and an open book on her lap.
“I’m wishing you a 1970’s couch, book and cat kind of long weekend. 💤😽,” Garner captioned the post.
The sweet photo and long weekend wishes seemed to go over well with Garner’s followers, as several of them — including comedian Hannah Berner and author Candice Kumai — commented in support. “A baby girl w her baby kitty 🐈⬛🩷🥰🐈⬛ adorable! No wonder why we love you so much,” Kumai wrote.
Garner has been known to share throwback snaps on Instagram to mark occasions such as National Teddy Bear Day, National Middle Child Day and various back-to-school festivities.
Last August, the 13 Going on 30 actress uploaded a kindergarten picture as an ode to students returning to the classroom, featuring her former fringe bob haircut, a homemade sweater and a heart-shaped pendant around her neck. “Happy back to school, everyone, from kindergarten Jen in her homemade and hand embroidered jumper,” she captioned the photo.
“Featuring a necklace earned by practicing piano,” she added. “Congratulations, Mamas, and 😭😭 they’re so big xxxx 🍎📝♥️📚🚸🖍️.”
While Garner is often reflecting on the past in her social media uploads, she also fills in fans on her current adventures. On Aug. 15, she raved about her recent “dream trip” to Japan, where she visited temples and shrines, posed in Tokyo, enjoyed some ramen and even took snaps of an oyster farmer catching shellfish.
In her Instagram carousel, Garner showed off a boat ride with a glass of champagne, a field of water lilies and a Japanese movie poster for her latest film, Deadpool & Wolverine.
Garner also spends a lot of quality time with animals these days. Last month, she shared a lighthearted clip on Instagram of herself giving her cat Moose a tour of the “places he’s never seen before” in her home.
“Moose asked for a tour. 🤷🏻♀️,” she captioned the clip, in which she took the feline around the house to get a closer glimpse of her microwave, fridge and fish tank. At the end of the clip, she even let Moose take a stroll on her bed, before the animal got his paw stuck on a blanket.
