Kate Middleton Makes First Public Appearance Since Completing Chemotherapy

Kate Middleton has made her first appearance in public since declaring that her chemotherapy is now over.

The 42-year-old Princess of Wales was sighted on Sunday, September 22, at Crathie Kirk Church, close to Balmoral Castle in Scotland, attending a service alongside her husband Prince William and other royal family members.

Kate smiled briefly in pictures taken by the British daily The Sun while she was sitting next to 42-year-old William, the driver of the automobile.

William was dressed for the event in a dark suit, while the princess wore a brown tartan checked coat and a wide-brimmed, green hat with feathers on the side. It was also captured on camera that King Charles and Queen Camilla arrived at the church in different cars.

Kate is making her first public appearance since revealing earlier this month that she has completed her chemotherapy treatment—a procedure she had previously disclosed being taking in March—at the same time as she revealed her cancer diagnosis.

Kate revealed that she has finished her cancer treatment in a heartfelt video message that was uploaded on September 9. She was filmed alongside Prince William and their three kids, Prince George, who is eleven, Princess Charlotte, who is nine, and Prince Louis, who is six.
The princess said in the video, “The last nine months have been extremely tough for us as a family,” adding that it was a “relief” to have ended therapy. We had to figure out how to go through the rough seas and uncharted territory because life as we know it can change drastically in an instant.”

“Everyone’s journey with cancer is unique, frightening, and uncertain, especially for those closest to you… Above all, this time has served as a reminder to William and me to pause, consider our blessings, and express gratitude for the small but significant things in life that we so often take for granted. Of just being loved and receiving love.”

Kate stated that she will return to work “in the coming months when I can” and that she is “doing what I can to stay cancer-free.”

It was revealed on September 17 that the princess had, in fact, gone back to work. Kate met with members of her Centre for Early Childhood team and the Kensington Palace staff at Windsor Castle to discuss her early years childhood initiative, as per the Court Circular, the official record of the Royal family’s activities, as reported by The Telegraph.
