Simon Cowell’s Son Eric, 10, Looks All Grown Up as the Duo Poses for Rare Photo at America’s Got Talent Taping

A very special guest recently joined Simon Cowell during an America’s Got Talent taping.

The 64-year-old judge was pictured on Tuesday, September 3, with his 10-year-old son Eric and his 47-year-old fiancée Lauren Silverman. The trio was seen walking the red carpet prior to the live taping of the AGT quarterfinals.

Cowell was seen grinning with his kid as he stood behind him, placing his hands on his shoulders. His son wore white T-shirt and jeans, while the pleased father donned gray T-shirt and pants. Posing in black slacks and a blazer with a leopard design, Silverman gripped her son’s arm.

In a June 10 audio episode of The Diary Of A CEO, Cowell talked about how his son came to his rescue during a difficult time when he was living a work-dominated existence and grieving the loss of his parents, Julie and Eric. Cowell’s mother Julie passed away sixteen years after his mother Eric, the man after whom his kid was named, in 1999.

The music industry executive stated, “I think I was on a downward spiral at that point, particularly when I lost my mum.” “You know, I lost my parents, and I also lost everyone.” Now it’s finality. At that point, everything I had said regarding my personal possessions was meaningless.

“When Lauren called, it began like any other call that begins, ‘Are you sitting down?'” You are aware of the upcoming event. It said something like, “Are you seated?” Yes, she replied, “Well,” and told me. Indeed, it completely transformed my life, altering every aspect of it. Cowell said to Steven Bartlett, the podcast presenter, “It made me happy again.”

Speaking to PEOPLE the previous year, Cowell said he enjoyed watching his son become “excited” during the AGT live tapings.
