Valerie Bertinelli reveals new boyfriend, two years after divorce heartbreak – and you might recognize him

After enduring the heartbreak of past relationships, Valerie Bertinelli has revealed that she has found love again, announcing her new relationship on Instagram with a heartfelt post that leaves no doubt she’s taken.

At 63, Bertinelli, who divorced her ex-husband Tom Vitale two years ago and lost her first husband, Eddie Van Halen, four years ago, went public with her new beau last Friday on Instagram.

She captioned a selfie with lyrics from Taylor Swift‘s song “So High School,” which is believed to be about Swift’s current boyfriend Travis Kelce.

In her caption, Bertinelli wrote, “I’ll drink what you think and I’m high from smokin’ your jokes all damn night.”

According to Entertainment Tonight, Valerie’s new partner is writer Mike Goodnough, known for his popular blog, the Hoarse Whisperer.

Earlier this month, Bertinelli stirred up speculation when she told USA TODAY, “I’ve met someone. And I’m incredibly grateful for him.”

She added, “It’s unlike any relationship that I’ve ever experienced with a man. I don’t want to say too much, but I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have met him.”

Goodnough confirmed the rumors about their relationship in an essay titled “Rumors, Rumors, Rumors…” on his Substack this week.

He humorously recounted asking Bertinelli about the rumors and her confirming that they were true.

In her recently published cookbook, “Indulge,” Bertinelli reflected on her marriage to Eddie Van Halen, expressing that despite their divorce, they never stopped loving each other.

Regarding her relationship with Goodnough, Bertinelli shared that they began following each other on social media several years ago and eventually started exchanging messages, possibly after her divorce from Tom Vitale in 2022.

Describing Goodnough as “a really super funny, incredibly talented writer,” Bertinelli told PEOPLE Magazine this month, “I’m in love. It’s a seesaw of emotions because I was adamant I was never falling in love again.”
