Demi-Leigh Tebow’s Father Has Passed Away From Pancreatic Cancer

Faith, family, and loss — these three words perfectly describe the emotional message Demi-Leigh Tebow shared with the world after announcing her father’s passing.

On October 20, 2025, Demi-Leigh Tebow, wife of former NFL player and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow, revealed that her beloved father, Bennie Peters, passed away on October 16 following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

“It’s with a heavy yet deeply grateful heart that I share my sweet dad went to be with Jesus last Thursday,” she wrote on social media.

A Family Rooted in Faith

Demi-Leigh and Tim Tebow’s love story has always been built on shared faith in Jesus Christ. The two were married in January 2020 in her home country of South Africa, surrounded by family and friends. Since then, they’ve been active in ministry and outreach, serving communities around the world together.

In July 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, Daphne Reign Tebow, a blessing they both described as “the greatest gift from God.”

Despite living in the United States, Demi has always remained close to her South African family, often sharing heartwarming photos with her parents and honoring her late half-sister, Franje, who passed away in 2019 from a rare condition.

Remembering Bennie Peters

Demi’s touching post included a carousel of photos — joyful memories filled with love, laughter, and family moments. She described her father as a man of “humor, kindness, compassion, and deep love for Jesus.”

“Thank you for showing me what unwavering faith looks like,” Demi wrote. “You taught me how to face trials with grace and joy, and I’m forever grateful for every moment we shared.”

Her father’s passing marks another profound loss for the Tebow and Peters families, but Demi’s message reflected the same faith and strength that have long defined her journey.

A Life of Purpose and Hope

In 2024, Demi-Leigh released her memoir, A Crown That Lasts: You Are Not Your Label, in which she opened up about identity, purpose, and faith through adversity. Her father’s influence and steadfast belief in Christ are deeply woven into her life story.

As she and Tim navigate this painful season, their message remains clear — even in loss, faith endures.

“My Pappa is healed and whole in heaven,” she wrote. “I can’t wait to see him again.”
