Angelina Jolie got matching tattoos with her 16-year-old daughter. They chose a symbol that connects them in a special way.

Angelina Jolie and her 16-year-old daughter Vivienne decided to commemorate their time working together in a lasting way. In a new interview with CR Fashion Book, the actress (49) shared that she and Vivienne got matching tattoos while working on the Broadway musical The Outsiders.

They both tattooed the phrase “Stay Gold,” which refers to the title of one of the original songs in the musical that Jolie co-produced with Vivienne. Jolie explained that “the tattoo means a lot to each of us individually, but also as a pair.” The tattoo is placed on the inside of Jolie’s forearm among her other tattoos, though where Vivienne’s tattoo is located hasn’t been revealed yet.

The mother-daughter duo took on this project together after Vivienne, who is passionate about theater, encouraged Jolie to become one of the main producers of the musical. Vivienne first saw this adaptation of Susan Eloise Hinton’s novel in San Diego in 2023 and loved it.

In the same interview, Jolie mentioned another tattoo she shares with one of her children—a small bird design—but didn’t specify which child. Jolie is the mother of six children she shares with her ex-husband Brad Pitt: Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and twins Vivienne and Knox (16).
