Phil Robertson, the legendary founder of Duck Commander and beloved star of A&E’s hit reality series Duck Dynasty, passed away on May 25, 2025, at the age of 79. Known for his deep Christian faith, bold personality, and devotion to family, Phil’s passing has prompted a flood of emotional tributes from the Robertson clan and fans around the world.

The Man Behind the Duck Call

Phil Robertson rose to national prominence after founding Duck Commander, a hunting gear company built around his now-iconic duck calls. But it was Duck Dynasty, which ran from 2012 to 2017, that turned him into a household name. The show, watched by millions, gave viewers an inside look at the Robertson family’s values, humor, and strong commitment to faith.

Following the show’s conclusion, Phil remained active in Christian ministry through podcasts like Unashamed, until stepping back in late 2024 due to declining health.

Health Battles and Farewell

In December 2024, sons Al and Jase Robertson publicly shared that Phil had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and a blood disorder. Despite his health struggles, the family continued to lean into their faith.

On a May 19 episode of Unashamed, Al and Jase candidly spoke about sensing Phil was preparing “for the journey to the other side.” Just days later, Phil passed peacefully on May 25.

The Robertson family issued a heartfelt statement:

“Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, his bold faith, and his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus. We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.”
