Erika Kirk Shares Heartfelt Handwritten Note from Charlie
|Remembering Charlie Kirk’s Legacy
On September 10, conservative commentator and Turning Point USA CEO Charlie Kirk was tragically shot and killed during a Q&A session at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The incident occurred under the pop-up tent of his American Comeback Tour, with hundreds of people gathered on campus to hear him speak.
Just two days later, his wife Erika Frantzve Kirk delivered her first public speech since the tragedy, honoring his life and the movement he built to inspire young people and point them to Christ.
Speaking from Charlie’s podcast studio in Arizona — standing beside his empty chair — Erika reflected on his bold life of faith, leadership, and love.
“Charlie’s impact on this world will be felt for generations,” she shared. “He lived boldly, loved deeply, and never wavered in his mission.”
Erika Kirk Steps Into Leadership
On September 18, Turning Point USA announced that its board had unanimously elected Erika Kirk as the organization’s new CEO and Chair of the Board, continuing her husband’s mission of empowering young people and defending faith and freedom.
This transition marked a historic and emotional moment for both Erika and the TPUSA community, as she took on the responsibility of leading the movement that Charlie had built from the ground up.
A Handwritten Love Note Shared With the World
On Saturday, October 11, Erika Kirk shared a deeply personal and touching handwritten note from Charlie, written shortly before he was killed.
During her speech last month, Erika revealed that Charlie wrote her “love notes” every Saturday, as he observed the Sabbath. These notes were their private tradition — a way of expressing faith and love within their marriage.
In the caption, Erika wrote:
“I share this with you not to prove a point, not to make anyone feel like they need to do the same for their spouse, but to encourage you. To show that when your husband loves you as Christ loved the church you have a deeper respect for him, a deeper love.”
The note expressed Charlie’s gratitude for Erika’s unwavering support for his mission with TPUSA and his desire to love and serve her even more. It was filled with warmth, devotion, and faith.

A Message of Love and Encouragement
Erika’s decision to share the note wasn’t about public display — it was about encouraging couples to love one another more deeply.
“I share this in hopes that today, husbands are encouraged to be even better husbands and wives are encouraged to be even better wives,” Erika said. “I’d give anything to have a Saturday breakfast with my husband asking how we can better serve one another for the week ahead… so if you’re reading this, and you have that blessing, please take advantage of it for me.”
Charlie and Erika married in 2021 and shared two children together. Their marriage was often described by friends as a partnership rooted in shared faith, love, and purpose.
Continuing His Mission Through Love
Erika’s post resonated with thousands across social media, with many commenting that the note reminded them to slow down, cherish their loved ones, and lead with love.
Through this intimate glimpse into their marriage, Erika has turned personal pain into public encouragement, carrying forward Charlie’s message of faith, family, and strength.
Her courage to share such a personal piece of their story speaks volumes about both their bond and their shared mission to inspire others.
