George Strait Announces Benefit Concert “Strait To The Heart” For Texas Flood Victims

Country music legend George Strait has once again stepped up for his home state of Texas. On Friday, July 11, Strait announced that he is organizing a special benefit event to help victims of the Texas Hill Country flooding, which recently caused massive destruction and displacement across the region.

“Strait To The Heart” – A Concert With A Purpose

The event, titled “Strait To The Heart,” will take place on Sunday, July 27 at the Estancia at Thunder Valley indoor arena in Boerne, Texas. The intimate venue will host only 1,000 guests, making this a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see George Strait and an all-star lineup perform in support of a crucial cause.

Strait partnered with businessman and longtime friend Tom Cusick, co-founder of Vaqueros del Mar, to make the benefit concert a reality.

“The destruction and loss in our community from the recent flood is hard to wrap your head around,” Strait said in a statement. “Our hearts and prayers are with you all. The goal with this event is to raise meaningful, immediate support that can be put directly into the hands of flood victims without delay, while also honoring the first responders that work tirelessly to save lives.”

Who’s Performing?

In addition to George Strait himself, the benefit will feature performances by:

  • William Beckman

  • Ray Benson

  • Wade Bowen

  • Dean Dillon

  • Riley Green

  • Randy Houser

  • Jamey Johnson

  • Kyle Park

  • Hudson Westbrook

  • Members of Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band

“We are incredibly grateful to all the artists who stepped up to be part of this. This is about Texans helping Texans,” Strait added.

Helping Those In Immediate Need

All proceeds will go to the 501(c)(3) Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund, which will distribute donations directly to affected families and trusted Hill Country relief organizations.

Complimentary tickets will also be given to local first responders as a show of appreciation for their service during the crisis.

“The road ahead will be a long one,” said Cusick. “But the need is so great, we knew we couldn’t wait. Texans show up for each other—and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”

How To Attend or Donate

Because of the venue’s limited capacity, tickets and tables start at $1,000. Those interested in attending or donating are encouraged to email:

Every dollar raised will make a real difference for families who lost homes, vehicles, belongings, and in some cases—loved ones.

A History of Giving Back

This isn’t the first time George Strait has lent his voice to help Texas recover. In 2021, he performed in the “We’re Texas” virtual concert organized by Matthew McConaughey to aid families affected by severe winter storms.

From hurricane relief to pandemic response, and now to flood recovery—George Strait always shows up for his people.
