Jennifer Lopez Marks Twins Max and Emme’s Sweet 16 with a Special ‘Birthday Getaway’ to Japan

Jennifer Lopez is celebrating the sweet 16th birthday of her twins! The singer and actress, aged 54, delighted fans on Thursday by sharing a heartwarming video on Instagram capturing the festivities during Max and Emme’s milestone birthday vacation in Japan, surrounded by family and friends.

The video kicked off with Lopez filming behind the scenes, expressing, “I’ve never seen Max so excited,” to which Emme chimed in, “I’ve never seen myself so excited.” Accompanied by Lopez’s song “Hummingbird,” the montage showcased Emme’s joyful encounter with piglets and Max enjoying a meal with a friend.

In the caption, the “Can’t Get Enough” singer wrote, “16 🥥🥥 Birthday trip 2024 🤍🤍.” The footage then revealed Max, Emme, and friends dressed in kimonos, engaging in activities like using a mortar and pestle. Lopez herself appeared in a floral mint-colored kimono with a pink sash and a turquoise accessory in her hair.

The twins’ birthday adventure included a museum visit, where Max marveled at a room filled with large white balls, and Emme explored a room with sparkling lit-up walls, transforming into a dark venue with floating flowers.

A proud moment was captured with a photo of Lopez standing between her twins, followed by a sweet scene of her kissing Max on the cheek and walking hand-in-hand with beaming Emme in a store. Other vacation snapshots featured the family in kimonos, holding umbrellas, and posing together.

The video concluded with the twins sitting opposite each other with “16” birthday balloons in the background. Lopez’s affectionate sign-off read, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY COCONUTS, I love you.”

Before the birthday tribute, Lopez shared a carousel of images in a large puffer jacket, gray turtleneck knit sweater, and sunglasses, captioned “Konnichiwa 💚♾️.”

Lopez shares Emme and Max with ex-husband Marc Anthony, to whom she was married from 2004 to 2014. In a 2022 interview with PEOPLE, she reflected on the twins growing up, saying, “They’re venturing out, they’re being their own people, and it’s us just trying to keep up. That’s the journey of it [and] another path you have to go own. It’s a joy for me,” The Mother star added.
