Health Issues Appeared Days Earlier

Reports indicate that Busch had already been experiencing health concerns days before his hospitalization.

Following a race at Watkins Glen International on May 10, Busch reportedly requested medical assistance immediately after exiting his vehicle.

According to race communications, he informed his team over the radio that he would “need a shot” and requested that a doctor meet him at the team bus after the race.

During the race broadcast, commentators explained that Busch had reportedly been dealing with a severe sinus illness that may have worsened due to the intense physical demands of racing, including extreme G-forces and rapid elevation changes on the track.

At the time, few expected the situation would later develop into a life-threatening medical emergency.
