Richard Gere’s lookalike son and wife cause a stir on red carpet

Richard Gere made a striking appearance at the Venice Film Festival over the weekend, accompanied by his wife Alejandra Silva and his son Homer Gere.

The family turned heads as they graced the event, but not all of the attention was positive, as online critics quickly shared their thoughts about the couple’s “body language.”

The Pretty Woman star, who is no stranger to the spotlight, attended the prestigious amfAR Gala Venezia in classic Hollywood fashion.

Gere, dressed in a black tuxedo with a bow tie and white dress shirt, exuded elegance. By his side was his wife, Alejandra, who looked stunning in a sheer dark blue gown designed by Silvia Tcherassi.

The gown, known as the “Mab Dress,” featured intricate lace floral appliqués over a see-through fabric with a high neckline, exposed back, and billowing skirt. The eye-catching gown, valued at over $4,200, was accessorized with diamond earrings and rings, adding to Alejandra’s sophisticated look.

The couple posed for the cameras, with Gere occasionally placing his hand on Alejandra’s hip as they shared affectionate glances. Despite their apparent affection, some viewers took issue with Alejandra’s demeanor, suggesting something seemed off in her body language.

One user on TikTok commented: “[She] looks extremely uncomfortable,” while another criticized their interactions, calling it “[Terrible] body language.”

Despite these negative comments, others appreciated the couple’s style and elegance.

Fans couldn’t help but admire Alejandra’s dress, with one admirer gushing: “That dress ❤️❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙 She is stunning in it 😍😍😍🔥🙌❤️.” Gere, too, received praise for his dapper look, with many expressing admiration for the Hollywood legend and his beautiful family.

Richard Gere’s son, Homer Gere, also caught the eye of many festivalgoers. Homer, who Gere shares with his ex-wife Carey Lowell, wore a tuxedo similar to his father’s, and the family resemblance between the two did not go unnoticed.

Fans on Instagram remarked on how much Homer looked like his famous dad. “His son looks a lot like him! Lucky guy,” one commenter noted, while another marveled: “His son is gorgeous🔥.”

Before their appearance at the gala, Gere and Homer were seen arriving at the Venice Film Festival by boat. Gere, always gracious, waved enthusiastically at admirers before stepping aside to let Homer exit. The crowd was equally charmed by the young man, who shares his father’s charisma and good looks.

During the festival, Gere took the stage to reflect on his career, particularly his debut film Days of Heaven (1978), directed by Terrence Malick.

Gere, visibly moved, shared his emotions with the audience. “This is so emotional for me to see — this is my first film and […] I don’t think I’ve seen this probably in 30/40 years,” he said.

Gere then acknowledged his son in the audience, proudly pointing him out and inviting Homer to stand up, sharing that Homer is starting his own acting career. “He’s really good. He’s really good,” Gere said, beaming with pride.
What do you think of Home Gere? He’s definitely his father’s lookalike!
