Tim Allen reveals why he’s never trusted a human being as much as his “Toy Story” co-star Tom Hanks

In the realm of Hollywood, where personas often overshadow the people behind them, few figures are as universally cherished as Tim Allen.

With a career spanning decades and a firm foothold in the upper echelons of the industry, Allen, now 69, has been lauded and critiqued in equal measure by audiences and critics alike.

It’s hardly surprising, given his extensive work history, that Allen has cultivated numerous friendships throughout his career. Yet, amidst the sea of acquaintances, there’s one individual whom Allen holds in the highest regard within the realm of show business. Appropriately, it’s a man who portrayed his on-screen counterpart in one of the most beloved children’s movies of all time.

During a recent appearance on the Kelly Clarkson show, Allen opened up about his enduring friendship with the universally adored Tom Hanks.

“He and I differ on so many things. I adore that man’s heart and mind,” Allen remarked fondly of Hanks.

Reports of the A-list duo being spotted together have sparked rumors of a potential collaboration on a new project.

“We’ve been going to lunch since Toy Story 1, two times a year, and we’re like two older women ’cause we will sit almost too close to each other at a booth,” Allen shared, reminiscing about their longstanding tradition.

“It’s just weird.”

Allen recounted a humorous anecdote from the filming of Toy Story 1, revealing how Hanks casually helped himself to fries from Allen’s plate—a behavior unfamiliar to Allen, who grew up in a household where such actions were uncommon.

Reflecting on their friendship, forged through their roles as Woody and Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story franchise, Allen expressed profound trust and admiration for Hanks.

“And I don’t think I’ve ever trusted a human being as much as Tom to even listen to me and vice versa. We have very different opinions on so many things, but he’s gotten me to accept — he’s really a wonderful and engaging person. He’s the first guy to listen to me and doesn’t judge,” Allen remarked.

It’s heartwarming to witness such a genuine bond between two esteemed individuals like Allen and Hanks. Both have enjoyed enduring success in their careers while managing to steer clear of significant controversy—a testament, perhaps, to their moral integrity and genuine character.
