Trace Adkins & Blake Shelton Light Up CMA Fest with Throwback Hit “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk”

CMA Fest 2025 just got a whole lot rowdier — and fans couldn’t get enough of it. On one of the festival’s biggest nights, Blake Shelton brought longtime friend and country legend Trace Adkins on stage for a surprise performance that had the crowd singing, dancing, and laughing along.

The duo performed Adkins’ 2005 smash hit, “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” sending the audience into a frenzy with the song’s infectious beat and tongue-in-cheek lyrics.

“The crowd went wild the second Trace walked out,” one festivalgoer wrote. “Total throwback energy. They crushed it!”

A Classic Country Moment

Shelton, who headlined the event, shared the stage with Adkins for the lively number. In photos later posted to Instagram by Adkins, the two stars can be seen trading smiles and verses as the crowd danced along.

With lyrics like:

“Now Honey, you can’t blame her / For what her mama gave her…
With that honky tonk badonkadonk / Keepin’ perfect rhythm / Make ya wanna swing along…”

…the entire stadium was on its feet, singing every word and swaying to the beat.

Trace Adkins Opens Up About His Friendship with Blake Shelton
