Post Malone Honors Ozzy Osbourne With Emotional ‘War Pigs’ Performance at the 2026 GRAMMYs
The 2026 GRAMMY Awards delivered one of the night’s most powerful and emotional moments as Post Malone led an all-star tribute honoring the late Ozzy Osbourne during the ceremony’s In Memoriam segment.
Taking the stage alongside Slash, Duff McKagan, Chad Smith, and producer Andrew Watt, Post Malone delivered a stirring rendition of “War Pigs,” the iconic Black Sabbath anthem.

A Family Watches in Tears
As Malone performed the anti-war classic, Ozzy Osbourne’s widow Sharon Osbourne and their children Kelly Osbourne and Jack Osbourne watched from the audience, visibly emotional. Cameras captured the family in tears as the powerful tribute unfolded, underscoring the deep personal impact of the moment.
“War Pigs,” originally released in 1970 as the opening track on Black Sabbath’s second studio album Paranoid, remains one of the most influential protest songs in rock history. Its inclusion in the tribute highlighted both Ozzy Osbourne’s musical legacy and the enduring relevance of his work.
Artists United by a Shared History With Ozzy Osbourne
Every musician who participated in the GRAMMYs tribute had previously collaborated with Osbourne during his career. Post Malone worked directly with Ozzy on the tracks “Take What You Want” and “It’s a Raid,” blending generations of rock and hip-hop in a way that introduced Osbourne to a new audience.
Andrew Watt served as executive producer on Osbourne’s final two studio albums, Ordinary Man (2020) and Patient Number 9 (2022), while Slash previously featured Ozzy on the 2010 song “Crucify the Dead.” Duff McKagan and Chad Smith also contributed to Osbourne’s later recordings, making the tribute a reunion of artists deeply connected to his final creative chapter.
Remembering the Prince of Darkness
Ozzy Osbourne passed away in July 2025 at the age of 76 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Just weeks before his death, he made his final live appearance at what was billed as Black Sabbath’s last-ever concert, held in the band’s hometown of Birmingham, England. The event, titled Back to the Beginning, featured a solo set from Osbourne, a final Sabbath performance, and tributes from artists including Slayer, Tool, Billy Corgan, Tom Morello, and Sammy Hagar.

Continuing Tributes and Legacy
The GRAMMYs tribute followed another high-profile celebration of Osbourne’s life at the MTV Video Music Awards, where Steven Tyler joined Yungblud for performances of “Crazy Train,” “Changes,” and “Mama I’m Coming Home.”
In October, Osbourne’s life and health struggles were further documented in No Escape From Now, a documentary chronicling his final years, including the impact of a 2019 fall, multiple surgeries, and his fight with Parkinson’s disease.
Post Malone’s ‘War Pigs’ performance stood as a defining GRAMMYs moment—an emotional, respectful farewell that honored Ozzy Osbourne not only as a rock legend, but as a lasting force in music history.
