Amanda Halterman from 1000-lb Sisters Stuns Fans with Her Remarkable Weight Loss – See Photos
|Amanda Halterman from 1000-lb Sisters has amazed fans with her latest Instagram posts, unveiling a striking transformation that has sparked widespread attention.
On March 17, she shared new photos from an outing, showcasing her impressive weight loss. Although her partner, Leonard Moore, wasn’t in the pictures, she mentioned him in her captions.

Halterman, known for her role on 1000-lb Sisters, first introduced her relationship with Moore on social media in January 2025. Her recent updates continue to highlight their bond. In one caption, she wrote, “@leonardemoore had such a great time hanging out with the kiddos and getting pampered. ❤ thank you 💋💋.” Another post echoed similar sentiments, expressing gratitude for their time together.
While she was celebrating a special day with her boyfriend, fans were focused on her striking transformation, flooding the comments with encouragement. One follower wrote, “Congratulations on your weight loss! What an incredible difference!” Another commented, “Look at this skinny mini!!!❤❤,” while others expressed admiration for her progress. “You have definitely lost a ton of weight!!” one person observed, while another added, “Look at you, all skinny and cute.”

Many continued to praise her journey. “Blimey Amanda, you’ve lost loads more weight! Well done!” one fan remarked. Another excitedly wrote, “Amanda, you look amazing! 👍👍👍,” while someone else gushed, “You’re so tiny ❤.”
Beyond her physical transformation, Halterman has been vocal about self-acceptance. In another post, she reflected on how Moore constantly reminds her of how he sees her, which has helped boost her confidence. She encouraged others to embrace both compliments and constructive feedback as part of their growth.
She has also shared motivational messages, emphasizing that success comes from discipline, consistency, and sacrifice. In a candid post with Moore, they reminded followers that no one needs permission or validation to be great—only belief in themselves.
Throughout 1000-lb Sisters, Halterman was often more focused on weight loss than her sisters. In a past episode from Season 3, she demonstrated a motorized wheelchair to her sister Tammy during a family vacation. However, tension arose when she worried about sticking to her diet at a horror-themed restaurant, leading to disagreements with Amy and Tammy, who wanted a cheat day.
Her progress is evident across her social media, including TikTok, where she shared a carousel of photos from her sons’ graduation in 2023, as well as a video of her playing with her nephew.
Halterman’s journey is truly inspiring, much like her sister Tammy, who marked a major milestone in her weight loss journey in November 2024. Proud of her progress, Tammy revealed an incredible achievement in a TLC Instagram clip, stepping on the scale to see a number she hadn’t in years—281.2 lbs.

Reflecting on her previous weight, Tammy shared, “The last time I was at Dr. Smith’s, I weighed in at 303.” Her brother, Chris Combs, was quick to congratulate her, exclaiming, “Congratulations, that’s good!”
In a confessional, Tammy revealed how shocking it was to see the number, saying, “Chris said he weighs 284. I now weigh a little less than Chris. That’s mind-blowing. I think the last time I weighed 281 I was like, fourth or fifth grade. I’m the baby sister, I’m not the ‘big’ baby sister no more.”

At one point, she turned to Chris and jokingly asked, “How am I lighter than you?” He responded, “You’re supposed to be lighter than me.” Laughing, Tammy quipped, “Because I’m short?”
Despite the playful exchange, Combs shared how proud he was of Tammy, admitting that he never imagined she would one day weigh less than him. “Did I ever think I’d see the day she was smaller than me? No, probably not,” he admitted.

Tammy has made incredible strides in her weight loss, but a recent Instagram clip revealed that her journey toward skin removal surgery has hit a temporary roadblock.
In the video, she consulted plastic surgeon Dr. Brad Turner, who explained that she wasn’t quite ready for the procedure. Tammy visibly lowered her head in disappointment upon hearing the news.

When asked about continuing with further evaluations, she responded with a somber, “I just don’t wanna get undressed,” expressing frustration over the delay in taking her next step.
Dr. Turner reassured her that she had made fantastic progress but needed more time. “I’m definitely not telling you ‘No.’ I’m just telling you, ‘Not tomorrow,’” he explained. He suggested that with another six months to a year of steady weight loss, she would be in an ideal position to move forward with the surgery.
Despite setbacks, Tammy has lost an extraordinary amount of weight since her highest recorded weight of 725 lbs. Undergoing bariatric surgery in July 2022 was a pivotal moment, allowing her to achieve her current weight.
Reflecting on her journey, she shared that even small victories have felt monumental. Being able to walk without a walker or wheelchair, no longer relying on oxygen assistance—even while sleeping—has been life-changing.

She also proudly shared, “Then it was being able to fit in a regular vehicle, front seat, and then the belt buckle, and not have to use an extender now. So I mean, just what seems minor to some people is giant for me.”
In 2023, Tammy fully embraced accountability for her weight struggles, recognizing that her past habits had led to her condition. “It’s my fault that I’m this size. I let it get out of control, but I know that I can change. I have to,” she admitted.

Her family and doctors have been incredibly proud of her journey. Dr. Eric Smith, the medical director of the Kentucky Bariatric Institute, has been one of her biggest supporters. While he is proud of her weight loss, he is even more impressed by how much she has transformed her life.
Dr. Smith emphasized that her journey is about more than just the number on the scale—it’s about achieving a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life.
