Pamela Anderson, 57, Flaunts Pink & Floral Dresses for ‘The Last Showgirl’ Promotion, Drawing Attention
|Despite all of his accomplishments, Kris Kristofferson’s family, and especially his bond with Meyers, was what mattered most in the end. Following years of medical difficulties, Kristofferson died quietly at the age of 88 in their Maui home, surrounded by Lisa Meyers all the way to the end.
Hollywood icon Pamela Anderson, 57, exuded effortless beauty on the red carpet of the 72nd San Sebastian International Film Festival on September 27, bringing modest grandeur and grace to the occasion. Online viewers were highly critical of her two distinct costumes, which she used to steal the show.
The “Barb Wire” actress wore a sophisticated, flowing dress with a floral print for the photocall for her recently released film, “The Last Showgirl,” directed by Anderson.
Anderson’s colorful ensemble, which had a big V-neck, long sleeves, buttoned shirt cuffs, side pockets, and a bow by the collar, was designed by none other than fashion icon Carolina Herrera.
She wore skin-colored shoes and diamond stud earrings as her sole accessories, letting the dress speak for itself. She had her blonde hair falling carelessly down her back and a clean face, devoid of makeup save for a hint of lip gloss.
Anderson didn’t exactly get a warm and welcoming response when he posted this garment online. A Facebook user remarked, “What a frumpy dress!” A supporter defended Anderson by saying, “[It’s] great stop the hate.”
That original commenter, though, shot back, saying, “[It’s] not hate, it’s very unflattering on her; she has a beautiful body, and this dress does nothing for her!”
Another netizen expressed their contempt for Anderson’s flowery dress and the fact that she was without makeup, saying, “[Needs] makeup, dress [makes] her look too old.” I adore Pamela ❤️, but not in this manner. It takes three minutes to do makeup.”
“The floral dress is lovely, however it fits poorly. On her, oversized appears a little sloppy. However, I adore slide 11. “She appears so joyful and carefree,” commented a viewer who came upon a Reddit post with multiple images of Anderson. Someone else on Reddit wrote, “[The] flower thing looks like a lumpy housecoat.”
In addition to the much-discussed Carolina Herrera gown Anderson wore, the “Baywatch” star wore a different dress at the “The Last Showgirl” premiere that same film festival. This one had a gold insignia by the chest area, a cape, and a beautiful pale pink outfit.
The famous Lebanese fashion designer Elie Saab created the pink set, which is referred to as the “Embellished caped gown” on the Mytheresa online site. It used to retail for $3,400, but it is now discounted down to $2,380.
Anderson chose to wear few accessories, just like she did with her floral dress. She made a dramatic change, though, with her hair, which was styled into a chic bun with a diagonal split. She also applied bright crimson lipstick to her face.
Social media was once again ablaze with responses to Anderson’s pink outfit. But the pink dress seems to be more well-liked by internet users than her floral one. “The pink is my favorite color. It looks fantastic on her,” a fan said.
Concurring with the previous comment, another fan said, “The pink gown is so pretty.” “She looks amazing, wow. I adore this for her,” a fan cried.
Though most seemed to think Anderson’s pink gown looked better than her floral one, some were not impressed with either one of them because of how they perceived Anderson’s appearance in the gowns.
“I don’t really like the style of either of these dresses; the floral one seems like a house coat, and the pink one just overpowers the wearer. Having said that, she looks stunning overall, and the colors work nicely with her,” wrote a user who wasn’t sure.
Another observer coming from a similar standpoint commented, “She looks really nice and ladylike, but it’s too early for her to look like Helen Mirren.” Another person said, “Why is she covered up like a grandma?”
Some users were merely surprised by Anderson’s aging appearance. While one observer said, “She looks totally different,” another was amazed, “What happened to her.. [Wow.]”
Someone clearly stated, “Not everyone GETS to grow old!” in defense of Anderson. She’s accepting the beauty of aging, and while her appearance has changed, she is still attractive.”
Many people could have missed Anderson’s main purpose for being at the 72nd San Sebastian International Film Festival, which was to promote “The Last Show Girl,” which also stars Dave Bautista and Jamie Lee Curtis, acting legends.
The movie tells the tale of Pamela Anderson’s stunning showgirl Shelley, who must make plans for the future after her 30-year Las Vegas show is canceled.
According to reports, the Gia Coppola-directed film received high praise at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and has already amassed an amazing 84% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
The way that Anderson plays Shelley in the movie is also receiving a lot of praise; Deadline called Shelley “a career defining lead role.”
