Kelsey Grammer, 70, Welcomes His Eighth Child Months After Admitting He “Neglected” Older Children

Kelsey Grammer, 70, Welcomes His Eighth Child

Kelsey Grammer has just become a father again at the age of 70. The Frasier star revealed the happy news on the “Pod Meets World” podcast, hosted by Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong.

During the episode, Grammer shared that he and his wife Kayte Walsh recently welcomed a baby boy named Christopher, born just a few days earlier.

“[Kayte] just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids,” Grammer said proudly. “It was like three days ago. Christopher just joined the family.”

Grammer and Walsh are already parents to Faith (12), Gabriel (10), and James (8).

A Big, Blended Family

Beyond his children with Walsh, the actor also shares:

  • Spencer Grammer (41) with his first wife, Doreen Alderman

  • Greer Grammer (33) with ex Barrie Buckner

  • Mason (23) and Jude (20) with ex-wife Camille Grammer

The new addition brings his total number of children to eight, spanning across five decades of fatherhood.

Reflecting on Regret and Redemption

In a candid interview with People earlier this year, Kelsey Grammer admitted that his busy career had caused him to neglect some of his older children when they were younger.

“I have neglected a couple of the kids in my life, especially the first two,” Grammer shared. “I’m trying to make up for a little of it now. I’m still their dad, so you can always have a chance to show up.”

He explained that while he’s more lenient with his younger children, he strives to give them clear guidance about life and responsibility.

“I probably should have been a little more clear and maybe less tolerant with the older ones,” he said. “I’m pretty tolerant with the young ones, but I tell them, ‘What’s your job in life? Showing up.’”

Finding Strength in Faith

In recent interviews, Grammer has also spoken about how faith has shaped his healing journey, especially after enduring devastating personal losses.

The actor’s memoir, “Karen: A Brother Remembers,” details the murder of his sister Karen at age 18, as well as the tragic deaths of his father and two brothers. These experiences deeply tested his faith.

“When Karen was killed, hanging on to what I’d always seen as a gift of faith became hollow,” he told Fox News Digital. “I felt betrayed by it. I even cursed God at one point.”

Over time, however, Grammer said he has found renewal in his faith — largely through his relationship with Kayte Walsh and the life they’ve built together.

“By virtue of writing this book, [my faith] has gained a little ground,” he said. “By virtue of meeting Kayte, by virtue of living through what we’ve lived through as well, has fortified my faith.”

A New Chapter at 70

For Kelsey Grammer, fatherhood at 70 is not about reclaiming youth — it’s about appreciating the second chances life gives. With his newest son, Christopher, and his growing family, Grammer seems to have found both peace and purpose.

“It’s fantastic,” he once said of fatherhood. “The energy is magnificent. I’m as young as they are.”

Kelsey Grammer’s story is one of loss, learning, and lasting faith — proof that it’s never too late to grow, heal, and start again.
