Jake and Romy Reiner have released a new public statement as they continue to grieve the tragic deaths of their parents, Rob and Michele Reiner. The beloved actor and filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, producer and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, were found deceased in their family home on December 14. Their deaths were ruled as homicides, and the case has continued to develop as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

According to official reports, their daughter Romy discovered her father’s body inside the home and immediately left the residence in shock. A roommate who accompanied her called emergency services. When first responders entered the property, they also discovered Michele Reiner’s body and notified Romy of her mother’s passing.

The couple’s deaths were attributed to multiple sharp force injuries, and both were classified as homicides. Days later, authorities arrested their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, who has since been formally charged in connection with the case. Prosecutors confirmed that Nick faces two counts of murder with special circumstance allegations, and if convicted, he could receive a maximum sentence of life without parole or potentially the death penalty. His next court appearance is scheduled for January 7.

Jake and Romy previously issued a brief public statement expressing their devastation, calling their parents not only the center of their family but also their “best friends.” The siblings have now shared an updated message through their spokesperson, acknowledging the overwhelming support they have received during this painful time.

“Jake and Romy Reiner remain grateful for the outpouring of love and support they have received,” the statement reads. The siblings also addressed future arrangements, confirming that plans for a public memorial service are underway, though no specific details have yet been released. They noted that more information will be shared once preparations are finalized.

As the investigation continues and the family prepares for upcoming legal proceedings, Jake and Romy have asked for privacy and understanding as they navigate profound grief and the complex circumstances surrounding their parents’ deaths.
