Keith Urban Suddenly Cancels Concert In South Carolina
|Keith Urban Cancels Greenville Concert Due to Laryngitis
Country superstar Keith Urban shocked fans when he suddenly canceled his upcoming concert in Greenville, South Carolina, just one day before it was set to take place.
The concert, originally scheduled for October 16 at Bon Secours Wellness Arena, was officially called off on Wednesday, October 15.
Arena officials released a statement explaining that Urban had developed laryngitis earlier in the week and was placed on strict vocal rest by his “longtime laryngologist.” The doctor advised the singer to cancel the show to protect his voice.
Bon Secours Wellness Arena Issues Statement
Bon Secours Wellness Arena posted the announcement on social media and shared an official statement from Keith Urban himself:
“Hey Greenville, I’m so SO sorry to have to cancel the show…I know all the logistics it takes to get to a concert these days and I’ve never taken any of that, or any of YOU for granted. I’m looking forward to getting back there when we can!!!!!”
Fans who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster will receive automatic refunds. Those who bought tickets through third-party resellers will need to contact their point of purchase for refund details.
Hopes Remain for Upcoming Nashville Show
Despite the setback, Urban’s doctor remains hopeful that the “Go Home W U” singer will recover in time to perform at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on October 17.
The Nashville concert is expected to be Urban’s second-to-last live performance of 2025, followed by a final appearance at the Boots on the Bayou Festival on October 31.
Urban Balances Personal Challenges and Career Milestones
Urban’s concert cancellation comes amid major changes in his personal life. On September 30, news broke that Keith Urban and his wife, Academy Award-winning actress Nicole Kidman, are divorcing after 19 years of marriage.
Court documents reveal that Kidman filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.” Both parties had signed the marital dissolution agreement weeks prior, indicating that many details had already been settled.
Urban performed his first post-divorce concert on October 2, while Kidman appeared at events in Dallas and Paris, debuting a new hairstyle. Neither has made a public statement regarding their split.
Keith Urban Returns to TV with “The Road”
Even with his touring schedule winding down, Urban remains busy with the premiere of his upcoming CBS competition series, The Road, debuting on October 19.
The show follows 12 aspiring country singers who will join Urban on tour, competing to become the next breakout star. Live audiences in each tour city will vote in real-time to determine who advances.
The winner receives a $250,000 grand prize and a record contract.
Urban serves as both the show’s headliner and an executive producer, alongside Blake Shelton and Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan. Country singer Gretchen Wilson will act as “tour manager,” offering guidance to contestants along the way.
Keith Urban’s cancellation may have disappointed fans in Greenville, but with his recovery expected soon and exciting projects ahead, there’s still plenty on the horizon for the country superstar.
