Country Star Lorrie Morgan Mourns the Passing of Her Husband, Randy White, at 72
|Longtime partner and beloved husband Randy White has passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion.
Country music legend Lorrie Morgan is grieving the heartbreaking loss of her husband of nearly 15 years, Randy White, who passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the age of 72. The couple shared a deeply personal bond that began in 2010 with a beachside wedding ceremony and continued through years of joy, family, and unwavering support.
Randy White: A Life Rooted in Hard Work and Family Values
Born on May 15, 1953, Randy White was a Tennessee native who graduated from Volunteer State Community College. He built a successful landscaping business and raised four children of his own before becoming part of a blended family with Lorrie, who has two children from previous relationships.
Their marriage brought together two families and created a home filled with cherished memories. Randy was not only a devoted husband but also a loving stepfather and grandfather who played a crucial role in the lives of Lorrie’s children.
Health Struggles and Final Moments
In April 2024, Lorrie Morgan shared publicly that Randy had been diagnosed with mouth cancer. Just one year later, in April 2025, she canceled several performances after Randy was hospitalized in Tennessee. Close friend and fellow country star Pam Tillis stepped in to fill her tour dates.
Randy passed away in the early hours of June 1. His death was confirmed by Morgan’s longtime manager and friend, Tony Conway, who released a heartfelt statement on her behalf:
“Randy has been my partner and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”
Lorrie also posted this emotional tribute on her official Facebook page, alongside a touching photo of her and Randy at the Grand Ole Opry.
A Stepfather Remembered: Jesse Keith Whitley’s Emotional Tribute
Lorrie’s son, Jesse Keith Whitley, also honored Randy with an emotional message. Jesse, the son of the late country singer Keith Whitley, was only a toddler when he lost his biological father. Randy came into his life when he was in his early 20s and became a guiding presence.
“He loved my mom, me, and my sister as if we were his own,” Jesse wrote. “He showed me love and showed me a relationship with Jesus… He has been the best grandfather my kids could ever ask for.”
Jesse recalled how Randy was always there for him—offering rides late at night, picking him up without judgment, and even coming to his aid during difficult times. He described Randy as a man full of unconditional love, with a gentle spirit who brought peace and stability to their family.
“Our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you fought one helluva fight, RanMan,” Jesse concluded.
