Reba, Miranda, and Lainey Unite for a “Trailblazer” Performance That Brought the ACM Awards to Its Feet
|Three of country music’s most powerful voices—Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, and Lainey Wilson—lit up the 2025 ACM Awards stage with the debut live performance of their empowering new collaboration, “Trailblazer.” The moment was more than a performance—it was a celebration of the legacy, evolution, and future of women in country music.
Dressed in matching brown suede and turquoise ensembles, the trio stood shoulder to shoulder, framed by the backdrop of an open road. The visual was symbolic—a nod to the journey of trailblazing women who have paved the way in the genre. Their harmonies were tight, their presence commanding, and their energy undeniable as they sang directly to one another and to the generations they represent.
🎵 “Talk about a trailblazer cutting one path at a time / Running like a dream chaser / Living on a prayer and a rhyme…” the lyrics rang out—a tribute to icons like Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, and Tammy Wynette, whose legacies echo throughout the track.
“Trailblazer” was co-written by Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Grammy-winner Brandy Clark, with production by Reba McEntire, Tony Brown, and Steve Marcantonio. The collaboration not only blends three unique vocal styles—it brings together three generations of artistry, showing the power of country music when women support and elevate one another.

Reba’s performance comes during her 18th time hosting the ACM Awards—a role she’s held since 1986. Last year, she debuted her single “I Can’t” at the ceremony and shared the stage with Lambert at Stagecoach 2024. Reba recently expressed her admiration for Miranda, telling Variety, “I’d love to tour with Miranda. I love her sassiness and her fun energy and I love her music.”
Lainey Wilson returned to the ACMs as one of the night’s most nominated artists, earning nods for Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Artist-Songwriter of the Year, Visual Media of the Year, Song of the Year for “4x4xU,” and Album of the Year for Whirlwind. Meanwhile, McEntire holds 16 ACM wins out of 48 nominations, and Lambert stands as one of the most awarded ACM artists in history with 35 wins from 75 nominations.
The “Trailblazer” performance was a powerful reminder of the resilience, talent, and unity among women in country music—and it left fans across the world inspired and energized.
